zeegoeshere: (until you hit the ground)

T-minus 6 hours until FOB. My parents aren't here so I guess I'm driving myself! Okay, um, awesome, I'll try not to die. Also, I'm seeing +44 in the same venue that I saw my very first real rock concert in--which happened to be Blink 182. I saw that band twice in two years with two different best friends, in this same venue. Hm, hm.

I haven't posted about this yet and I'm not sure why, because I made the final decision days ago. But, okay: I am moving back to Salt Lake City. I'm going back up to Portland at the end of this week to see HCT again, plus packing and cleaning and saying goodbye to people and places, and I'll be moving probably the weekend of July 13. I'm moving back into my parents' house for an indeterminate amount of time until I get a job and my own place, and then I'm going to work and hoard money and probably enroll in the University of Utah in January. It has nothing to do with any dislike of Portland--I love Portland, I love the people I've met there, I have had an awesome year and a half there--and everything to do with where I am right now and what I need to do. I'm going to miss [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn so, so much and I'm very sad that Team Awesomesauce must be broken up, but I'm sure I'll make it back up to PDX plenty of times.

I'm not sure what this decision looks like to other people. Does it look like I'm crawling back home, defeated by the wide world? Does it look like I'm a masochist going back to Mormonville out of insanity? Does it look like I'm giving up? I could try to explain this more, and I might post about my reasoning more later, but I don't really care what it looks like to other people. I feel so, so good about this decision, and I know I'm doing the right thing.
