So I was going to write an entry about my political angst and how, even months after I quit Grassroots Campaigns I still have only two modes: apathy or anger, and how any time I try to talk politics with anyone the conversations end with me saying something like "I want to grow up to become an environmental terrorist," but uh... I wrote a song about it instead? And I was too embarrassed to post it, even under the lyrics filter, but then
besquared said it was funny so uh. yes. My political apathy, let me show you it.
( in my head it's folk-punk )
I did, actually, write this in a Starbucks. And I was at the Starbucks because it is the only cafe left in what used to be my favorite funky, independent neighborhood in SLC, which has recently been utterly gutted, and the independent punk coffee shop that I've been going to for years and years finally got boarded up this last week, and all that's left of the neighborhood now are Barnes & Nobles, Wild Oats, Bed Bath & Beyond, Panda Express, and if I continue to name the chains there I'm just going to get sadder. Suffice to say I would like to throw all of our city planners in the Great Salt Lake.
