Possibly you've already seen this on your friendslist, but:

thete1 and buggery are two of my favorite people in fandom. When I stayed with them last March they gave me food, shelter, and warm woollen socks in the face of a blizzard. They've given so much to fandom and to me, personally, and now there's an opportunity to give back.

Te and Jack have found a new apartment to live in--yay! The only problem with the new place is that it doesn't have a wheelchair ramp, which is obviously necessary for folks who have a rough time with stairs and need ramp access. Their landlord is willing to build a wheelchair ramp, but doesn't have the cash up-front, so Te and Jack need 3000 dollars to get this thing built. hradzka has started the Jack and Te Ramp Drive to raise this money for them.

Even if you've never interacted with either of these people, consider chipping in. This is not buying an iPod or a new laptop for someone--this is something they need and that the government should be providing but isn't. Anything at all helps. This post has more details and the link to give.
