Summary: Derek doesn’t know how Stiles always does this every time they have to work together: he gets Derek caught up in these ridiculous, circular conversations and Derek finds himself arguing over inconsequential things that he doesn’t actually feel that strongly about. It’s like Stiles has an innate ability to bring Derek down to his level of immaturity. 36,950 words, explicit.

Warnings: Underage, descriptions of past trauma. (Nothing you don’t hear about in canon.) This is vaguely future fic, set during Stiles’ junior year of high school. The title is from the song Star Bodies by The New Pornographers. Endless amounts of thank you to etben for betaing, and to drunktuesdays/bootysnorkel for all of the cheerleading, cajoling, pestering and bullying that it took to get me to actually write this. Without Lea this would neeeeever have gotten finished.

For those of you who are Mountain Goats fans, John Darnielle is the last guest on the Marc Maron WTF Podcast. And man, I thought that I loved John Darnielle as much as I could possibly love him, but I was wrong, because this interview with him has unearthed whole new depths of admiration for him. Marc Maron often asks his guests some pretty personal questions, and Darnielle talks a lot about his abuse, his drug use, and self-harm. It gets really heavy but it was so cathartic to listen to. Highly recommended, especially if "The Sunset Tree" is one of your go-to albums when depressed, as it is for me.

I had such a blast participating in Festivids for the first time! The vid I made was "Working on the Highway" for Cappy, and it was super fun because I got to combine Bruce Springsteen and Channing Tatum's naked butt. Two great tastes that taste great together, it turns out.

I really lucked out and received Man Not A Monster, which is an Attack the Block vid about Moses. And it's pretty much my ideal vid for this movie. The vidder really captures the fantastic energy and motion that runs throughout the film, as well as being an excellent character study of Moses.

I am so beyond pleased with my Yuletide story. I asked for Archer, Pam/Cheryl or Archer/Lana, and I got BOTH in one story that also includes fuck-or-die, golden showers and fisting. In any other fandom, I might be slightly taken aback to get a Yuletide present with golden showers and fisting, but for Archer? It's perfect. I am amazed at how they got the characterization as well as the tone of the show so perfect--it's like watching an episode of the show.

Goldenfist, for the TV show Archer, Pam/Cheryl and Archer/Lana. It is AWESOME.

Would anyone be up for taking a look at a vid for me? Fandom is Teen Wolf, it’s Stiles-centric,and about half of it was made between the hours of 12 and 4 am in one night, while the other half was made during various states of sobriety, sleep deprivation, and frenzied procrastination on my sociology homework. So uh—what I’m saying is that I need to make sure that the funny bits and the sad bits and the narrative make sense to anyone outside my head. I’d prefer someone who’s familiar with the source, but it would also be useful to see how it reads to someone unfamiliar with the show.

Hit The Bottom and Escape

Summary: Lydia doesn’t know what else to do, so she goes to Allison’s house. It seems kind of silly: how do you go back to a high school friendship, once you’ve discovered that she was never who you thought she was, and once she’s watched you kill a man? 2700 words, explicit.

Warnings: This deals with one of the characters coming to terms with canon events that, while not explicitly sexual, were explicitly non-consensual. It features about the same level of violence that canon depicts.
Notes: Every time we discuss and overanalyze the crap out of this show, kickthebeat and I come to the conclusion that what we want out of Allison's season 2 character arc is for her to not kill anybody, while Lydia's arc should totally end with her getting to kill someone, preferably Peter Hale. So this takes place a few days after a hypothetical s2 finale, in which Allison backs off from killing Derek, but Lydia kills Peter. The title is from Weird Fishes/Arpeggi by Radiohead.

So I'm not sure if I've mentioned this here or not, but much like the rest of fandom, you can find me dicking around on tumblr more often than you'll find me on LJ. I'm crookedwinding over there. Odds are that when school starts up again and I need my brain for more than shilling bagels and analyzing Hoechlin's jawline, I might forget that I have a livejournal again, but tumblr is like my forever drug. I'm not going to lie to you, there is a loooooot of Teen Wolf content at the moment, but I have hope that my interests may yet diversify!

Speaking of Teen Wolf content, I just posted my playlist of songs about Derek Hale's horrible life. Everyone should talk to me about which songs remind them of Teen Wolf, because let's be real, we're all at that stage of fannishness, right? Let's all exchange mix tapes.
