I have this playlist! That I am using to write fic to. This playlist includes:

--an embarrassing amount of Death Cab For Cutie (but more the bittersweet and hopeful stuff rather than the songs that are just tragic)
--Wolf Parade (but not their most discordant songs)
--Blue Room In Archway by The Boo Radleys
--a similarly embarrassing amount of Elliott Smith
--Us Placers by Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams
--Camisado and Lying Is... by PatD
--Sugar, We're Going Down by FOB
--Conventioneers by Bare Naked Ladies
--The District Sleeps Alone by The Postal Service
--Raincheck by Ani Difranco
--Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
--The World At Large by Modest Mouse
--The Boys Of Summer by Bree Sharp
--several by Less Than Jake
--several by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
--How Many MCs... by Black Moon

And um. I need more music on this playlist. Does anyone have recommendations for me based on the above? Or... just... songs that you like? Links or not, whatev. I'm bored and I need more music.

My extra userpics have expired, and I think my paid account is expiring soon, too. I'm going to experiment with not renewing, see how long I last. Oh my god, I don't have enough Patrick icons. (And, um, this isn't a not-subtle hint for anyone to buy me more, so please don't. ♥)
Mood:: not musically delicious
Music:: Ben Folds--Brick <--also on the playlist!

Ever heard of Say Anything? I'm not sure how well they would fit into the above, but they're pretty bad ass. Or better yet, The Plain White Tee's? they have a couple of songs that remind me of that bittersweet tone of Death Cab--just with a bit more punk.

Oooh, I think I've heard of them but never heard anything by them. I'll try to track them down, thanks! :D

Oooh, check out Carbon Leaf, for sure. They're acousticky folky slightly Irish-influenced goodness. Excellent songs include: "The Boxer" (not a Simon & Garfunkle cover, ahaha), "The War Was In Color", "What About Everything?", "One Prairie Outpost", "This is My Song!", and "Wandrin' Around". If you like I can upload 'em.

Ooooh. I do have a couple songs by them, but not the ones you mentioned. I'll see if I can grab more from Limewire, thanks. :D

Dude, there will probably never come a day when I will NOT want people to spam me with music. :D :D! I do have a couple of these, but that just means that our taste lines up I guess! Awesome. Thanks so much.

God, the soundtrack to Grey's Anatomy gets me writing like crazy. You might want to check into that or I can try (again) to upload songs. We'll see if I fail! :D

Oooh, thanks. I have no idea what the songs on that soundtrack are, hmm. I can try to look it up.

My suggestion is that you send me Boys Of Summer.

That is not helpful. :(

Shut up it so is.

Honestly, I'm too tired to figure out any sort of pattern in the songs which makes it a little hard to help...

Which, also - I sort of wish I'd waited to read the new thing till I was AWAKE, just because then I could have expressed my reaction to it better (the first part in particular was an ongoing "...oh my god", basically, repeated aloud more than I want to admit) and maybe it'd've hit me differently - I feel like my reactions to parts were muted by the fact that some things were melting together in my head. That said, it STILL hi me over the head and dropped me and so I would deem it a success, m'dear. ♥

Dude, NO WORRIES, your feedback really made me beam. Like, a lot. ♥ ♥ (And I can totally upload Boys Of Summer for you.)

Oh, good. It just. Omg. HORRIFIED me. Which is pretty much what it's SUPPOSED to do, I suspect...

You're a doll and I love you. Just fyi. :D

I have a whole bunch of songs and albums up for grabs at my journal, if you feel like browsing. The most recent post, and the "Canadian content" one are still good for the dowload links.

At the moment, I find The Cliks (http://www.sendspace.com/file/uhqg3d) pretty catchy.
