I had a deeply horrible day at work, during which I almost cried in front of my boss and/or customers several times and *did* cry when it was just me and the dogs (in my defense, dude, you try holding back tears of frustration when you're trying to sweep out a dirty dog kennel and part of the heavy metal kennel wall falls on the back of your head). I managed to convince myself that I was a horrible failure and should quit my job and forget about school and forget about friends and just hide forever; then I came home and took a shower and passed out and felt about a million times better.

I am considering getting 'YOUR EMOTIONAL STATE IS ENTIRELY DEPENDENT ON WHETHER OR NOT YOU NEED A NAP' tattooed on my forehead.

Plus! One of my favorite coffee shops in town, Salt Lake Roasting Company, called me to come in for an interview tomorrow. And apparently the independent bookstore in my neighborhood is also hiring, and the managers eagerly told me to bring in a resume, and I should be hearing back about two interviews I had last week soon. Someday this period of my life will be known as my Kitty Litter and Wood Shavings years and I'll look back on it and laugh sardonically.

I've been listening to The Used more and more lately. I admit to feeling a little bit guilty every time I sing along to the line 'your shallow concept' in Pretty Handsome Awkward--I'm sorry, Gerard! Ilu and your not-shallow concept album! I just also love your ex. The Used are coming to Salt Lake as part of the local alt-rock station's big music festival, and I'm considering going. On the one hand, I dislike most of the other bands playing, and I'm pretty sure it's deeply shameful for anyone older than 15 to go to said festival; on the other hand, I've heard The Used are awesome live. Hm, hm. The Bravery are also coming soon, although that's all the way out in Orem, and I'm lazy, so I don't know. Also, if I go to see them and they don't play Split Me Wide Open, my crushing disappointment will be felt from states away.

And TAI on Wednesday! :D :D And Black Rebel Motorcycle Club the day after, although I still need to buy a ticket for that. Plus, it's definite that I'm going to Vegas with [livejournal.com profile] miss_saigon and [livejournal.com profile] cracknanny, and not only will I be seeing those Fall Out Boyz, I will also be seeing [livejournal.com profile] callsigns again, YAY.

I keep thinking up posts on the bandom wank and why it pissed me off personally so much, but I'm ultimately too lazy to type anything out. Essentially, the whole thing has made me love bandom even more, and I'm probably going to be even more annoying about said love out of pure spite, so. If you absolutely can't stand bandom, I'm a little confused as to why you're reading this journal. What the hell else do I ever post about?

To sum up, Gym Class Heroes are still forever and ever my favorite, amen.

And, uh, as far as hiatus goes--I might be around? I might be around but less and just posting rambly rl-focused entries like this one? My need to go away keeps fluctuating, so I don't know. I'm playing it by ear.

My singing along is like: "Your market value, your resurrection! Your shallow concept sorry, Gerard HOPE YOU CHOKE AND DIE!"

Thanks! :)

Aww. Snuggles aren't really needed, but thank you. ♥

And yay! I have most of their first album, but I think I'm still missing a few songs, so awesome. (Oh man, if they're still playing songs from their first album live these days, that... could tip my decision to see them to DEFINITELY.)

yes! let that thought pull you out of the mire of your current situation, zee. and if all else fails, turn to gerard. "i am not afraid to keep on sweeping! i am not afraid to muck this kennel alone!"

i don't know, possibly i need another nap. <333

VEGAS! I can't believe I'm going there for the first time when I'm under 21, though. My life is hard like Ryro's.

Good luck with the interviews and resumes - it sounds like you've got some great opportunities, there. :)

And n'aww, GCH! Adorkable!

(I am just back from my own inadvertent hiatus. *HUGS LJ* But I have no bandom icons. :( )
