I realize that it's not 2006 anymore so probably no one cares, but I've been watching season one of Heroes for the first time and I am feeling some feelings about it y'all. For some reason when it first aired, I was super into the first five or six episodes, but then I just stopped watching, and then I randomly saw the season finale months after it aired. I can't explain my viewing habits, man. But anyway now I'm going back to watch the episodes I missed and uuuuuhhhh it is NOW VERY OBVIOUS to me why everyone was so obsessed with this show.
I just finished the episode where Claire said goodbye to her dad on the bridge and I FUCKING CRIED. OH JESUS, HE MIND-RAPED HIMSELF TO PROTECT HER. HE WAS FORCED TO MIND-RAPE HIS FAMILY OR KILL THEM. CLAIRE WAS SO JUSTIFIABLY FURIOUS WITH HIM BUT THEN SHE SAVED HIM!!! SHE SAVED THEM ALL BECAUSE CLAIRE IS THE MOST AMAZING!!!
And PARKMAN OMG! I wasn't super stoked on his storyline for the longest time but somehow I got invested in him and ugh ugh I loved him desperately trying to make the best of a situation in which he's accidentally become the bad guy. Shooting Claire!! Trusting Mr. Bennett!!
That was easily the best episode of the show so far, at least according to my tear ducts. I'm SUPER EXCITED for the rest of the season, and super in denial about the inevitable pile of crap that I'm told is season two.

Season 2 wasn't THAT bad, it gets a bad rap for sure. But the Writer's Strike definitely fucked it over.

I'm excited for season 2, even if I know it won't be great, so it's good to hear someone say it's not that terrible. And man, the writer's strike, I keep forgetting that that happened right around the time this show was starting.
