0.o So my roots are already growing in a little, because my hair grows crazy fast, and they're coming in black. Like, not just really dark brown like normal, but BLACK. Um, okay? Dear universe, since you are apparently making me even more Gerard-like, I would like my own Frank Iero next.
Speaking of Gerard! Holy crap, The Umbrella Academy is AWESOME. Comics people, you should take a look at this! It's free, it's awesome! I'm dying for the actual first issue to be out, not just the 12-page preview. I think I was expecting something a lot gothier and bloodier with more characters trying to save my life, but what he's written is actually this really awesome team book. In the future! With robots! And one of the female characters has a FAKE boob window, where it sort of looks like a boob window at first glance but is actually the team logo on her chest.
What is this feeling in my chest? Might I be... liking comics again, a little bit? Damn you, Gerard.
It helped that the comic book shop we went to is my new favorite place in the world. It's on this magical stretch of NW 5th Ave right off Burnside that manages to support like four modern art galleries, two hip-hop clothing/toy stores, two gaming/general nerd-dom joints, a cafe, a bakery, a strip club, and this comic book shop. (Seriously, this street--I can't describe it without going 'Oh, Portland' multiple times. ♥) Floating World Comics! It also sells a ton of graffiti and art books and zines, there's amazing murals art for sale on the wall, it has a totally great atmosphere and just, in general it mixes comic books and actual coolness in a way I didn't really know was possible. Dear comic book industry, please be more like this.
I fucking love bandslash fandom, okay? Seriously, in the past two days, a)
gigantic wrote me Pete/Patrick porn that is HOLY SHIT HOT AND AWESOME and I would try to describe it, but I don't want to ruin it for you. Just, here, read it: Break You Down, and b)
ninjajab wrote me There's A Light On, which is Patrick/The Butcher which I didn't even *realize* that I needed in my life until she wrote it holy crap. Holy crap, kids, this story is my new favorite thing in life. The pairing works so well! I want Patrick and The Butcher to get married now! *flails*
I am also freaking out over this video interview with Pete about the opening of AK-47, namely because Travis randomly wanders through towards the end, trashed out of his MIND, and there is drunken groping and I love the universe. Also, apparently Jay-Z came to the opening? This fandom has spoiled me for life. (Srsly though, fandom, Travis/Pete. Buddy tattoos, groping, boners when Pete sits on his lap, a height difference that makes me clap my hands in glee. Please get on this.)
I am like seven episodes behind on Supernatural, but
liviapenn made me watch the latest episode with her regardless, for which I am thankful because OMG DEAN. I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said by other people, but just. DEAN. DEEEEAN. And Sam! Ack, god, I'm still so hopelessly fond of those Winchesters.
Here, have some music that I have been grooving to lately. Hip-hop, corny 90's alt-rock, MCR because they own my soul, Panic! because god damn you, Brendon Urie, you are seriously growing on me.
Jay-Z feat. Mary J. Blige- Can't Knock The Hustle (1996)
Kanye West feat. Common- My Way Home
My Chemical Romance- I'm Not Okay (I Promise)
The Stereophonics- Just Looking
Third Eye Blind- Graduate
Nelly- Ride Wit Me
Panic! At The Disco- There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered, Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet

Hey, somebody posted GW's comic on scans_daily:
http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/3452407.html
You could put it on your newsletter! :)

Yeah, it's a preview! To make you want to buy the actual comic later! :)
(no subject)
My point though? Someone needs to write Andy and Gerard being comic geeks together. I would die happily. I would die more if it were convincing porn.
Hah.

I also kind of want gen where they meet and fanboy Grant Morrison and Brian Vaughan, because I am sad like that.
I think my poor little geeky heart just exploded with LOVE! Seriously? That would be awesome! Someone should write this.

And does it not, really? Well fuck that, it's one thing to have random !s in the name of your band but it's another to not be grammatically correct. >:0

I STILL want to write an entirely random Gen DC/MCR RPF where he and Phil Jimenez hang out, drink lots of coffee, and discuss eyeliner and comic books.

If my internet worked better I would so be re-downloading things right now. Bugger.
(no subject)
Also, this has been bugging me. That is Gerard in your icon, yes? If so, where can I see the full-sized picture of that??
(no subject)
I will see if I have this picture full-sized, though I know for a fact that I have some of the other ones. That entire photoshoot fills me with incoherent squeeing glee. The kind where Gerard totally jerked off to that movie in his basement when Mikey wasn't home then felt guilty for not taking the trash out when Mikey came back and was like: WTF, who uses Vaseline?
And it was irrational when I was the only kid in 9th grade, in a class of 25 other than the poor only black kid in the school who knew who Public Enemy was and why wearing a clock on your chest was ironic, and it probably remains so. :/ Being from Oklahoma sucks sometimes.
(no subject)
Oh, man, I empathize. I'm from Utah, and the first time I heard a reference to Bed-Stuy in a song I had to google it because I had no idea what it was. *facepalm*
(no subject)
And oh, man. I just am so full of insane love for the My Chem boys right now. It probably helps that three of the five are currently naked in my head. Oh, porn. Never stop being awesome.

Rammstein in general is way more enjoyable when you can't speak a lick of German. Though the incredibly emo chorus for Engel is fun.
Oh, Till Lindemann. Why you so frightening, yet strangely compelling.

I LOVE wasted Travis!!! Random groping! Wandering in and out! I love him so ridiculously, he is made of so much awesome I'm surprised there is any left for the rest of us. :)

Yes.
Since they showed off their matching tatoos I. WANT.
Also, Travie was wearing white nail polish when they did it so. Yeah.
WANT.
Query: As GCH ascends more into the main stream do you think that Travis will take down his gay a bit. I was watching footage from the show he did in late Feb where Beckett came out and they weren't nearly as gropey as I know they can be. I was wondering if it was just a non-touchy night or if Trav is like "This is a hip-hop show, son, we might get things thrown at us."
Also, I want GCH to remake "Buddy" by the Native Tongues and I want all the other bands to participate in it somehow... I can't think of anyway for that to happen but yah. Maybe just cameos in the video then.

*spasms*
(no subject)
That would require him being sober all the time.I mean, Panic! and Fall Out Boy certainly haven't. And it's not like Travis wears makeup or anything like they do, he just gets grope-y with his friends onstage, which is easeier to write off, you know? And Slick Rick on his shirt! I was trying to figure out who that was, thanks. :)

Man, I know! I will have to set up a pull list for this. Which means finding a regular comic store, instead of just occasionally appearing in (coughspit) Forbidden Planet and snagging single issues and actually reading comics again on a regular basis and dammit, Gerard, my scars are nowhere near healed!
I've uploaded it as a .cbr, btw.
Also, bleached hair = black roots. I have never worked out why but it used to confuse me every time the bleach on my two inch spikes grew out. So odd!
(no subject)
I have heard that the black roots is a constant thing, yeah! Huh, that's weird. I'm not really opposed to it, I think black hair is keen, but. Strange!

Anyway, hi, do you mind if I friend you? Saw you at the bandom friending meme and somehow managed to not actually reply to your comment, good going, Telis. *headdesk*
Though if the universe is going to make you more and more Gerard-like, I'd caution you to watch for food poisoning ;)
(no subject)
And of course I don't mind! No need to ask. :D (And, ugh, please let me not get food poisoning now.)
(no subject)
I'll use my supercool psychic-thinger powers to hopefully prevent food poisoning ;) Fingers crossed, man, food poisoning sucks. Poor Gerard :(
