A lot of different things that are awesome crammed into one post.

0.o So my roots are already growing in a little, because my hair grows crazy fast, and they're coming in black. Like, not just really dark brown like normal, but BLACK. Um, okay? Dear universe, since you are apparently making me even more Gerard-like, I would like my own Frank Iero next.

Speaking of Gerard! Holy crap, The Umbrella Academy is AWESOME. Comics people, you should take a look at this! It's free, it's awesome! I'm dying for the actual first issue to be out, not just the 12-page preview. I think I was expecting something a lot gothier and bloodier with more characters trying to save my life, but what he's written is actually this really awesome team book. In the future! With robots! And one of the female characters has a FAKE boob window, where it sort of looks like a boob window at first glance but is actually the team logo on her chest.

What is this feeling in my chest? Might I be... liking comics again, a little bit? Damn you, Gerard.

It helped that the comic book shop we went to is my new favorite place in the world. It's on this magical stretch of NW 5th Ave right off Burnside that manages to support like four modern art galleries, two hip-hop clothing/toy stores, two gaming/general nerd-dom joints, a cafe, a bakery, a strip club, and this comic book shop. (Seriously, this street--I can't describe it without going 'Oh, Portland' multiple times. ♥) Floating World Comics! It also sells a ton of graffiti and art books and zines, there's amazing murals art for sale on the wall, it has a totally great atmosphere and just, in general it mixes comic books and actual coolness in a way I didn't really know was possible. Dear comic book industry, please be more like this.

I fucking love bandslash fandom, okay? Seriously, in the past two days, a) [livejournal.com profile] gigantic wrote me Pete/Patrick porn that is HOLY SHIT HOT AND AWESOME and I would try to describe it, but I don't want to ruin it for you. Just, here, read it: Break You Down, and b) [livejournal.com profile] ninjajab wrote me There's A Light On, which is Patrick/The Butcher which I didn't even *realize* that I needed in my life until she wrote it holy crap. Holy crap, kids, this story is my new favorite thing in life. The pairing works so well! I want Patrick and The Butcher to get married now! *flails*

I am also freaking out over this video interview with Pete about the opening of AK-47, namely because Travis randomly wanders through towards the end, trashed out of his MIND, and there is drunken groping and I love the universe. Also, apparently Jay-Z came to the opening? This fandom has spoiled me for life. (Srsly though, fandom, Travis/Pete. Buddy tattoos, groping, boners when Pete sits on his lap, a height difference that makes me clap my hands in glee. Please get on this.)

I am like seven episodes behind on Supernatural, but [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn made me watch the latest episode with her regardless, for which I am thankful because OMG DEAN. I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said by other people, but just. DEAN. DEEEEAN. And Sam! Ack, god, I'm still so hopelessly fond of those Winchesters.

Here, have some music that I have been grooving to lately. Hip-hop, corny 90's alt-rock, MCR because they own my soul, Panic! because god damn you, Brendon Urie, you are seriously growing on me.

Jay-Z feat. Mary J. Blige- Can't Knock The Hustle (1996)
Kanye West feat. Common- My Way Home
My Chemical Romance- I'm Not Okay (I Promise)
The Stereophonics- Just Looking
Third Eye Blind- Graduate
Nelly- Ride Wit Me
Panic! At The Disco- There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered, Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet

Oh, the clockwork orange shoot! I've seen some pictures from that, but not the whole thing. I'm sure I can track it down easily enough, no worries.

Oh, man, I empathize. I'm from Utah, and the first time I heard a reference to Bed-Stuy in a song I had to google it because I had no idea what it was. *facepalm*

But you googled! You're a good fan. It's not like when you find Rammstein fans who don't know about the You Have/You Hate debate over the spelling of the song Du (Hasst/Hast). I'm like: Clearly you have lives! You fail.

And oh, man. I just am so full of insane love for the My Chem boys right now. It probably helps that three of the five are currently naked in my head. Oh, porn. Never stop being awesome.

...but the song doesn't make any sense with hate! "You. You hate me. You hate asked me. You hate asked me, and I did not answer" makes no sense!

*laughs* I know! Except, you know. The English translated version. *makes face at it*

Rammstein in general is way more enjoyable when you can't speak a lick of German. Though the incredibly emo chorus for Engel is fun.

Oh, Till Lindemann. Why you so frightening, yet strangely compelling.
